Raven Black Moon Landing is a striking bowl from the Resonance collection, hand-turned from an ash branch that fell near our home. At 27 cm in diameter, its Raven Black finish – achieved through ancient burning and charring methods – delivers a timeless, profound statement about the space it inhabits and its future steward. Long before we retrieved the whole log, we carried back a single, oddly shaped burl; its upper surface echoes the contours nature carved, reminiscent of a lunar landscape – a quiet tribute to humanity’s first Moon landing in 1969.
Exhibited at “100 Objects (2025)” and “Station To Station (2025)”, it captivates as a sculptural accent, pure artwork full of meaning, or a stage to highlight cherished items.
Resonance is our middle tier — between the everyday functionality of Journey and the uncompromising boldness of Vanguard. It balances quiet utility with sculptural presence, created to live naturally in refined interiors.
At Scar & Wonder, work begins with abandoned and reclaimed wood. Each piece is an act of discovery: unpredictability shaping the silhouette, with singular marks – graceful cracks, voids, twists and textures – becoming its character rather than its flaws. Every Scar & Wonder object is one of a kind, finished with natural ancient methods and marked with its own hand-stamped signature.
Our objects challenge mass consumption — the cycle of superficially perfect, quickly discarded goods. By embracing imperfection and aging, we reject capitalist disposability and invite stories, creating lifelong companions. Choosing Scar & Wonder is a commitment to a slower, more connected life – one in which things are cared for, shared, and ultimately passed on.
